I made a career change in April 2018 to improve my work-life balance and, with relevant skills from previous roles, I became a self-employed Mortgage and Protection Adviser. I have been helping clients with all areas of mortgage planning, from helping everyone from first-time buyers all the way through to limited company portfolio landlords.

A year ago, I passed my final qualification to become a financial planner, and this is why I joined Christopher Little & Co. The structure, processes and general way they conduct business is the way I want to work.

Day to day is mostly spent speaking to and meeting with clients, and reviewing their financial plans and mortgages.

As I am the newest member of the team, I also spend time shadowing. Along with taking knowledge tests, I keep improving my expertise and staying up to date with changes.

Currently, I would still consider myself a mortgage and protection specialist, but with the guidance of Tom and the team, I’m moving more and more towards being a financial planner.

When I'm not at work

My wife Hayley and I have two young children, Max and Molly, born January 2020 and August 2021. So free time is very limited!

After the pandemic, we do as much as we can as a family, and by this I also mean with our parents and siblings, and not just for childcare support!

We always try to get out and about on a weekend, keeping our eldest as busy as we can. As members at Harewood House, we find ourselves going there quite a bit.
