Weā€™re both in public sector work with some risk, so we wanted some stability should anything happen to us. We wanted to sort out Life Insurance.

We also wanted a mortgage and family income benefit – insurance that pays a wage to the other should anything happen to either one of us. That was important to us. We also arranged Critical Illness cover and Income Protection. Tom asked us what we would like and what we needed and he advised us on different parts. Sarah and I agreed this would be the best level of protection for us.

We also have a Stocks and Shares long term ISA with Tom. We got that when Harry, my son, was born. We pay in a certain amount each month with the idea being that as that develops and matures over time we have a university fund for when he or my daughter goes to university. We hadnā€™t arranged anything long term up to that point. We only had short or mid term savings. Tom advised us we could get a Stocks and Shares ISA and we agreed an amount and did a risk assessment which helped us understand what level of risk we were comfortable with. Weā€™ve been paying in for four and bit years now and we have regular check-ins. Throughout the current market disruption, Tomā€™s always been there at the end of the phone to advise and reassure us.

Tom is very knowledgeable. Heā€™s very relaxed and personable and even though some of the subject matter can be quite challenging Life Insurance and such – heā€™s able to put it across in a sympathetic and professional manner. Iā€™ve never felt that heā€™s clock watching or that heā€™s rushing me. Heā€™s always there on the end of the phone.

He is able to make these complicated engagements and issues seem straight forward and easy. He has a relaxed but confident matter which immediately instills trust.
