After finishing university, I was eager to start working in the financial advice industry. Over the summer I worked as an intern paraplanner for someone I knew well, giving them a hand during an especially busy period. I really enjoyed this work, and I found it interesting learning about the advice process, and all the different technicalities that came with it. Throughout this experience, it confirmed to me more and more that this was a career that I would like to follow, which is when I applied for this role.
As a trainee Paraplanner, my day-to-day role varies. I spend lots of time on the phone with providers trying to get policy information; I’m busy writing detailed reports that eventually get sent out to our clients; and I collate large amounts of client information and their circumstances so that we can be sure the advice we give is truly suitable to every client’s needs and objectives. Although much of this work is unseen by the client, I find great joy in being a part of the process, and being able to see the positive effects that great quality financial planning can have.
No day at Christopher little & Co is the same. It’s a place where I feel I am constantly learning new things and growing in my abilities. I look forward to my future here and what may lie ahead.
When I'm not at work
Although I never have any free time, when I do, I like to go on holiday. This is one of the best joys in life.
I enjoy walking around and exploring a new town square or eating out by the river at sunset.
